Proverbs 3:7-8

February 10, 2026 by Ezers

Listen:

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be a healing for your flesh and a refreshment for your body. (Proverbs 3:7-8)

Reflect:

This passage teaches us to humble ourselves and not rely on our own understanding, but rather depend on God for guidance; to honor God and turn away from evil. We need to make wise choices that are in line with God’s will, plan and purpose for us as mankind. In trusting and following God’s guidance we will experience physical and spiritual well-being.

There are mysteries that exist in the universe and one of them is knowing that we have a Creator. He has allowed us to be on earth. We owe our being to him therefore we should respect him. When we praise our Lord, pray and do what is pleasing to him by following his word daily we are respecting God and this brings healing to our body and spirit. Our God loves us and he provides for our physical and spiritual well-being.

When we know the truth and tell it, it is good in the sight of God and it sets us free. When we do not tell the truth we are in bondage and we are not free with ourselves. I would like to give an example to illustrate this. “A young man named Yusif came to take care of our cattle. Two days later at work, he hit a cow and broke its foot. When asked what happened to the cow. He said a neighbor’s wife threw a stone at the cow’s foot and it broke. However, another person had witnessed the incident. He was later confronted with the truth. He was forgiven and He felt relief.”

Prayer of Response:

Dear God teach us to spend time with you daily alone but also in fellowship with other members of our communities.

Questions to Ponder:

  • Do you set aside time for reading the word of God to know the truth?
  • Do you ask God for guidance in your daily life?

Breath Prayers:

Join us in praying breath prayers each day. We invite you to write your own as well.

Inhale(Breathe in): Your word
Exhale(Breathe out): Is health to our bodies.

Inhale(Breathe in): Your word
Exhale(Breathe out): Is refreshment to our spirit.
