Our mission is to encourage, prepare, and connect women worldwide to impact their communities with the love of God. During the month of March Tuesday Together will focus on Prepare.
Listen:
“…proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
Reflect:
I have been reflecting lately on friendship. Specifically, on friendships that have lasted; both in distance and time. I can’t pinpoint why some that appeared fleeting at first meeting now seem unbreakable, and others that were once embedded in the bedrock of my daily life no longer exist.
But one thing that I have noticed, is that many of those that have lasted the distance are friends with whom I have had many a deep conversation about the meaning of life, the universe and everything. And in those conversations, I have been able to proclaim the message (within my fragile confidence to do so) because I can draw on God’s faithfulness in my story. It is encouraging to me to know that although it may have been years/decades before the echoes of these conversations hit home, persistence in sharing my journey was all that was asked of me.
Paul’s charge to Timothy is to be prepared to share anytime, anywhere. To be ready and persistent. He wasn’t being asked to have it perfected, or to make sure the people he spoke with left convinced of the message. Be ready to share, whether it’s convenient or not. He will take care of the rest.
Prayer of Response:
“Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunity to preach your salvation through the gentleness of friendship and the witness of my own journey. Give me the courage to be prepared at any time to do so without fear. Amen.”
