Listen:
You did this for me. You did this for your son Jesus:
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my bodyand knit me together in my mother’s womb.Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!(Psalm 139:13,14 NLT)
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.”“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. (Luke 1:33-36 NRSV)
Reflect:
So much that is important is hidden. God is at work in every molecule. Nothing and no one is outside of his care.
Stop. Wait. Allow a sense of wonder to fill you as you contemplate the mystery of the incarnation.
Ask the Lord to bless those you sense are feeling far from God. Remembering they are indeed precious to Him.
Questions to Ponder:
Who might the Lord be bringing to mind for you to remind how precious they are to God?
Prayer of Response:
Your workmanship is marvellous—how well I know it.You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. (Psalm 139:14-16 NLT)
