Listen:
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” ( Isaiah 40:28)
Reflect:
I spent the entire month of February digging deep into Genesis Chapter 1. It left me in awe of God’s mighty power to create and transform. I did not even scratch the surface of the profoundness of God’s skilful wisdom, precision and orderliness displayed at the creation of the world. The creative power of God’s Word gave form to the formless. His word transformed what was without form into something with identity and purpose. I found the endless blue sky hanging over the limitless waters mesmerising. It is my most calming pastime and a constant reminder of the infiniteness of God’s craftsmanship at creation.
The magnificent creation is evidence of the even more majestic Creator—The Almighty God. Each day of the creation gushes out the story of God’s splendour. The glorious display of God’s craftsmanship in the creation must stir our souls to worship and ignite our hearts to praise Him.
In the hard times when we are prone to whine and complain that God has lost track of us or does not care what happens to us, the Scripture reminds us that the everlasting God does not come and go. The Creator of everything we can see or imagine knows everything inside out. There is no searching of His perfect understanding and extraordinary wisdom.
The sufficiency of God’s power to create and transform lives and situations can never diminish. He will adequately supply the strength we need to overcome every obstacle and challenge along our path to accomplish His purpose for our lives.
Prayer of Response:
Lord, we pray that You will manifest that same creative power that brought peace and calm to what was chaotic before creation to our world today. Let Your power to create and transform bring light to the darkness around us and give structure to the disorderliness in our world today.
Questions to Ponder:
- What difference would it make if you pause, ponder and reflect on the profoundness of God’s power at creation and its application in our current situation?·
- How would knowing that this same God who created the world is aware of you, what you are going through and cares about you change the way you think about your situation?·
- How would you stand in awe of God today?
