Listen:
I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us—yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses. (Isaiah 63:7)
Reflect:
God is KIND and I will tell (others) of His amazing kindness
I will praise Him for his deeds (for me and for others) – for what God has done for us.
I Will choose to name the many good things he has done for His people.
God is compassionate and kind.
At the moment, these are hard words for me to focus on, as I am really now mostly praying for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. In dark times I must discipline myself and remember the great truth: God is GOOD, all the time.
So, I think of how God has recently been good to me and us: he has allowed our church to “find a needle in a haystack” and call a wonderfully qualified pastor for our senior position (I was chair of the committee and felt great responsibility). The pastor then, after a week of prayer and counsel, accepted the call and will be arriving soon. So, this is a “what has God done for me and us, as a church”.
God has ended the Pandemic (at least it seems so, now) and the hospitals are not overfull, even though now it is still flu season. God has been kind and compassionate to me in the whole pandemic time. I have felt safe and really protected by Him.
Today as I write this, I know that God has been good to me today and has helped me get things done and my thought processes. It is a busy school time, plus I have other responsibilities with my coaching and supervision (and being on the board of the EASC, which is new and foreign to me) and church…
This is not even to get to Jesus, salvation and now EASTER. I will extoll God for the wonderous compassion He has shown us all!
Prayer of response:
Thank you, dear Father, dear Jesus and Spirit, that you are doing wonderous works of salvation and redemption in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus! You are GOOD, all the time! You are kind and compassionate and after you have saved us and are continually making us new, every day. We praise and thank you for who you are. AMEN.
Question/s to Ponder:
How has God been kind to you? What marvelous deeds is God doing in your life now? What has God recently done that you can praise him for? Who are you telling “these things” to, so God can be praised?
