Listen:
‘‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’’ (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV)
Reflect:
Yes, He is the Lord and the King of the kings. Almighty, incomparable and irreplaceable God. Can you imagine that this amazing God wants to have an intimate relationship with us? I would say this is called mercy. Jeremiah 33:3 can be seen as an invitation to develop an intimate relationship with God. It says, “Call to me”, which emphasizes the idea of calling upon God, which implies a personal and direct communication with Him. This act of calling upon God signifies a desire for closeness and intimacy.
On August 18th, I had a dream: I was leading worship in front of my church family when I sensed God asking me to stop singing and pray for someone who was struggling with something and feeling all alone. I felt led to come down on my knees, take a moment to pause before God, and try to hear His voice. Sometimes we resist following such prompting. I began praying and gradually I woke from the dream…Right then I had to I write about this dream in my notebook. I wondered what God wanted me to do. And asked Him who He might be leading me to pray for but it was unclear.
Amazingly, two and half months later, God allowed me to come back to Mongolia from Australia for a month and He gave me an answer to my prayer about my dream.
While in Ulaanbaatar, God led me to gather an impromptu youth meeting at my church, Immanuel. That night, three young people testified about God. One said, “I bought a new desk to study God’s word because I need to protect this precious alone time with God and make it crucial for myself”. One girl who recently decided to follow Jesus, was so desperate to learn about God and expressed her feelings that she wants an intimate relationship with God. The other girl testified about how she tries to set herself apart from all the temptations she faces and it was not easy and she often felt alone.
At that moment, I realized that God gave me my dream to prompt me to pray for the youth of my church. Even though I did not understand then, He hears the prayers of His children. I called Him and He answered and told me unsearchable things I didn’t know.
Questions to Ponder:
- Can you tell us about your intimate moments with God?
- How do you follow His instruction in unclear moments?
Prayer of Response:
Thank You, Lord our God for being our mighty Lord. Thank you for answering our prayers and guiding us even if there seems no way. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalms 119:105 NIV I love you Lord, in Jesus name. Amen
