Listen:
True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sins. (Malachi 2:6)
Reflect:
For the first time I am spending a significant amount of time (more than a year) away from home, (Mongolia) which is hectic and exciting. How quickly seven months have passed. One day, I simply stopped and reflected, I had something, but it was off or was missing, which was peace. So I made the decision to leave the busy city and settle in a rural part of Australia for a few months.
I have prayed for a month and God has given me a chance to stay in a bushfire affected area which has a beautiful family farm as a volunteer worker. Now I have a wonderful opportunity to experience the Aussie lifestyle and family culture. I created the very first crochet bag at this location while doing volunteer work. While I was making this crochet bag, God showed me how to wait in His peace and pay attention to His voice. That is how God brought to me this verse, which is very encouraging while I work creatively in His peace.
As a priest of God, I would like to bring attention to four significant duties. (Psalms 110:4: “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”Psalms 110:4 NIV)
First of all, the true instruction is in our mouth. We are the Almighty Lord’s messengers. Although creating this way of life is not always easy, our entire existence is meant to serve as an example for others in Him and through Him.
Second, there is to be nothing false on our lips. Because a priest’s lips should maintain knowledge not ignorance.
Thirdly, we walk with our Almighty God. Isn’t that lovely! Every single day we can walk in His righteousness and in peace with Him. I recognise that this verse’s most crucial phrase is there and this action makes it possible for a way of living that can serve as a model for others in the kingdom of heaven; this is also a beautiful grace of the Most High One.
Last but not least, we can help countless people turn from their sins. This is a result of the dedication we have, making a difference and being a good example for others in this world.
Questions to ponder:
- Do you fulfill all 4 duties as a priest of Almighty God?
- What kind of activities or things do you enjoy doing when you’re resting in a creative way? (For those on Mighty Networks, Please share in the comments).
Prayer of response:
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for being our never changing Lord our God. I would love to resolve to honor Your name. Not just in reaction to happy moments, not just in big moments. Every single day we want to honor Your name and walk in peace as Your messenger, as Your priest in this world and in our community that belongs to me. Nothing even a small amount of falseness was not found in our lips but Your truth and let us live like a lifespring of this world in Jesus name. Amen.
Father in heaven, We are grateful that You are our God who never changes. I would really like to resolve to honor Your name in my life- not just in response to joyful moments. Every single day we strive to honor Your name as Your priests in our communities that You have given us. May nothing, not even a tiny bit, of falsehood be detected in our speech. Let only Your truth flow from our lips,to allow us to live as a life-spring for this world.
